What is Handles Club?
Handles Club is a collection of 150 domains available to use with Bluesky — for free. Each Handle is also a website that redirects to the Bluesky profile.
How do I add my handle to Bluesky?
- Go to your Bluesky settings, then "account" and click "Handle"
- In the "Change Handle" window click "I have my own domain"
- Enter your new handle (e.g "alice.provides.examples")
- Click "No DNS Panel" and then click "Verify Text File" at the bottom
- Finally, save your new handle: click "Update to "alice.provides.examples""
Can I keep my handle forever?
Yes, once a Handle is registered and confirmed (by adding it to Bluesky) it will never be available to register again (even if you remove it from Bluesky).
How much does it cost?
Handles Club is free, forever. The service doesn't cost much to run, we don't need to charge for it.
What does the 'Invalid Handle' error mean in Bluesky?
During periods of high load, Bluesky can encounter errors saving a Handle. You can rectify this error by resetting your Handle to [something]@bsky.social, then, go through the process to add your personalized Handle again (following the steps above).
Who runs Handles Club?
Handles Club is created and operated by Shrink Inc., a little company that makes little things for the internet, like handles.net and defunct.net.
The handle I want isn't available
If there's a handle you would like to register that isn't supported, please let us know and we'll see what we can do :) If the Handle is already registered, sorry, it's first come first serve.
